The BEAM/BEAM+ is a very high powered torch light and as such can generate heat if not being used outside. This is normal, as the air will cool the light during use. The light cannot overheat as it uses a thermal protection circuit and will automatically reduce the power output if the light reaches its thermal limits.
So we recommend using BEAM lights outdoors with their supplied/compatible mounts.
